I’ve spent more than 20 years representing buyers and sellers across Hawaii and 34 years calling these islands home. I’m a licensed real estate agent and mortgage lender, which gives me a perspective most agents don’t have: I understand both sides of the financing conversation that ultimately decides whether a deal closes.
I founded Paramount Properties Hawaii to give clients something the industry has been slow to offer: a real choice. Some clients want full representation from strategy to closing. Others are informed, capable, and just need expert execution at the moments that matter. Both deserve a path built around their needs, not ours.
In two decades of representing buyers and sellers, I’ve worked with every kind of client. Some wanted complete representation from the first conversation to the closing table. Others were experienced, informed, and simply needed expert help at the moments that truly mattered the offer, the negotiation, the contract.
For most of my career, the industry offered one answer to both: full-service representation at a percentage-based commission. For many clients, that’s exactly the right fit and it’s a service I’m proud to offer. But for others, it was never quite right. And until recently, there wasn’t a real alternative.
Two things changed that. The 2024 NAR settlement opened the industry to different service models buyer agent commissions became openly negotiable, and the rigid pricing that locked the industry into one approach finally had room to flex. At the same time, AI and online research tools transformed what clients can do on their own. Buyers can filter, compare, and evaluate properties with more information than any previous generation. Sellers can research pricing trends, comparable sales, and market timing themselves. For clients who’ve done that work, paying full commission for a full-service package often doesn’t match what they actually need.
I founded Paramount Properties Hawaii to offer both models side by side — full-service representation for clients who want complete guidance, and flat fee representation for clients who arrive informed and need expert deal execution. Same expertise. Different paths. Your choice.
